We asked moms – what do you REALLY want for Mother’s Day?

“What I’d really like for Mother’s Day is the day off from cooking. I really just want to go out to a restaurant with my husband and children, and have someone else cook for me. What I don’t want for Mother’s Day is gifts. I don’t really need anything and I think that flowers are wasteful. What I really like is a homemade card from my kids. They are the best.”

We also asked moms – what would you prefer NOT to receive for Mother’s Day?

 
“I don’t want flowers or gifts. I only want to spend the time with my kids maybe a picnic not worry about cooking or what needs to get done at home. I don’t want to spend it alone I want to spend it with my family at a picnic a road trip and just enjoy the day.”

A meal and a vacation were the top two answers across the board for what moms want for Mother’s Day, regardless of the age of their kids. However, the top things moms want changes quite a bit based on how old their kids are.

 
“I used to say tell my husband that want a day off of being a mom for Mother’s Day, but then I had a talk with a friend whose mom used to say that about her and she said how much it hurt her, so now I say I want a nice family day with my two kids and husband. I’d like to go for a family walk at a park or the beach, have a nice lunch together, and not have kids fighting.”
